Maintaining Your Bike
Attempting to maintain good bike performance but failing. Some simple precautions and you can increase your bike, enhance its mileage. Take utmost care of your bike, treat her like your own child, have proper medical checks. It’s as simple as you ripe while you cut. Spent some time and cash on bike and get most from your babe.
Base Importance
Tires would be the main element of a bike they let your bike to roll on the floor. For best show from the bike you have to keep close track of this bike buddies. If you are using older tyre it will be suicidal, such tyres may skeet on hard turns, instant hard braking, can lead to a big accident and many significantly it affects mileage of motorcycle. Replace older tyres if needed urgently. Look for tyre tread wear at each 2500kms.also take a look at for adequate tread depth, cracks or cuts and stone or something like that stucked in groves
Air Pressure
Air pressure hugely affects bikes performance, low air pressured tyre results in plenty of rubber wastage. Even I’d also faced just how much risky these low air pressured tyres can be those are the most unbalancing factor for bike. The correct air pressure for tyres is:
Tyre – Pressure with single rider (kg/cm2) – Rider + Pillion (kg/cm2)
Front – 1.75 kg/cm2 (25.0 psi) – 1.75 kg/cm2 (25.0 psi)
Rear – 2.00 kg/cm2 (28.5 psi) – 2.25 kg/cm2 (32.0 psi)
Fundamental essentials standard tyre pressures.
Don’t be crazy
Always maintain a great speed of 40 to 50 kmph only at that speed rider is safe and bike gives best of its all. At 40-50 kmph any bike can give best mileage even though pulsar 150 can give up to 50 to 55 kmpl and also at this speed any type of braking can be viewed as as safe braking. So don’t be crazy drive at safe speed (exceptions allowed).
Accelerator
Accelerator is really a part that boosts the speed of motorcycle, often called throttle. Maximum throttle wire play should be 2 to 3mm. Check that it is working smoothly. Accelerator should not be high if looking for mileage. Look for accelerator play in every 75 days.
Chain
Chain is a lopped connection of small bits which connects the engine to the rear wheel. Maintain proper slack i.e. 15 to 20 mm. take a look at for adequate lubrication on the chain which always protects chain from rust, keep chain covers on to protect from water and specially dirt on the chain. A really lose or tight chain do affect the mileage from the bike. Lose chain also creates problem while gear changing. So keep an eye on chain and keep your bike running. Check drive chain at every 500 kms, check drive chain slack at each 2500 kms, check driver chain wear at every 5000kms.
Suspension
They create your journey smooth even on harsh surface so keep a wide open eye in it also. They should be at exact position because they also affect bikes mileage.
No Over Loading
Don’t over load your automobile maximum pay load on bikes is about 130 kgs. Over loading also causes poor mileage, engine failure, tyre puncture or any other damage internally or externally.
Mobile Oil
Mobile oils are also known as lubricant. They act as lubricant for engine avoid engine heating up by reducing deterioration. Mobile oil also increases engine life. But use of proper engine oil for bike is essential. Don’t use car lubricants in bike both are different kind of lubricants.
Lubricants, substances put on the bearing, guiding, or contact surfaces of machinery to decrease friction between touching parts. Natural lubricants might be fluid, or semi-fluid, for example organic and mineral oils; semi-solid, such as grease; or solid, such as graphite. Man-made lubricants comprise of the silicones and exceptional products that can function at extremely high temperatures, for instance advanced car diesel engines. Such products might get the appearance of coatings that enable moving parts to lubricate themselves, and oils that decompose without leaving behind friction-producing deposits.
Previously, vegetable oils and animal fats and oils were the main sources of lubricants. From the time recently 1800s 90 percent of lubricants has been from petroleum or shale oil.
The ground rules of a good lubricant are body or density, fight to corrosive acids, fluidity, minimal frictional or tensional resistance, high burning and flash points, and freedom from oxidation or gumming. Chemical tests exists for determining many of these properties in lubricants.
